Do people in Indonesia pay taxes?
I am a loan officer and I need to verify income. I have a client who works in Indonesia. He says that he gets paid cash and that the country doesn't have an income tax system or W2s like the US does. Any experience with this?

They sure do, and pretty heavy ones at that. Here's a link that might give you some insight: http://www.expat.or.id/info/individualincometaxes.html The exchange rate is about US$ 1 = IDR 9,300.00 or about UK£ 1 = IDR 17,300 There are also Social Security taxes of around 10% and VAT at 10%.

I live in Indonesia and as I know we have tax system but the government doesn't cut the tax automatically from peoples salary. people need to report they income and get NPWP (ticket to pay tax). Our government do aggressive sosialization about this on the television.

Did Obama's mother work for Tim Geithners father in Indonesia?
If so, does this mean the administration is resorting to cronyism, similar to nepotism which are both despised by the Left?

i do despise cronyism and nepotism, but that is how the human race operates. you see the same thing in business, government, anything.

I believe his middle name is Karl..not too sure. He grew up in Braunlage, Germany. His parents may still live there. They did own an Inn there, i believe. He used to work at the Holiday Inn, Beijing. His birthday is 29 Aug. Thanks for your help.

My wife's 12 year old daughter has a father that has never seen her. He lives or works in Indonesia.

He refuses to acknowledge her through a friend on Facebook. I think he believes if he ignores her the issue will go away. Is there a way to find out his address or phone in Indonesia? Thank you.

I know you love your wife but don't get involved. If she has a dad like that (mine is the same, ignored me all my life) hes not worth the hassle of trying to track him down. He'll be a letdown
