What kind of work is left in the United States when Corporations out source work to other countrys

What kind of work is left in the United States when Corporations out source work to other countrys?
A young man started the day early having set his alarm Clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his Electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG), he put on a dress shirt ( MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans ( MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA ). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) , he got in his car ( MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued with his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB . At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ), the young man decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine ( MADE IN FRANCE! France!) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why?

Become a doctor, a lawyer, etc. Service businesses will never be outsourced.

Manufacturing jobs SUCK! High paying jobs in the tech and Info security areas are left. We can't IMPORT enough H1-B's to fill all the jobs right here in America. These are quality high paying good benifit jobs too. FYI... H1-B visas are given to people with special skills not redily available in the US. So go to college and you'll be just fine.

Increasingly what Americans have to offer that no one else can is face-to-face service. Of course, that's something many people have forgotten how to provide. (Just try getting customer service at your local department store or DMV!) If you're looking for a new career, think in terms of direct contact. It's not for everyone, but it's something they can't ship overseas. BTW, according to the April consumer reports, a Toyota is more likely to be "Made in USA" (with American-made parts) than some cars made by Ford & Chevy-- including the all-American Mustang. So someone thinks America is a great place to create jobs, it's just not American corporations.

Ask an Iraqi, Communist China worker etc. The 1 % are insulated from the reality's of their greed.. for now American citizens have power, but the odds are that they won't use it. The power is the vote, boycott and learning to live without the geegaw, and focusing on what really truly matters in their lives.

You're talking about two different things: importing and outsourcing. Yes, a lot of American companies outsource to another country. It's usually work that is not core to the business, such as processing, IT operations, or something of that nature. The main reason is so that the company can focus on the true business. It works well for some companies that offshore a bunch of administrative functions. But for other companies it is a bad idea. There are a lot of mixed opinions about outsourcing and offshoring. That's different from the US importing products from other countries. The US is still the world's largest exporter. But it's true a lot of what we use comes from somewhere else. Would you want to wake up every morning to go to work and assemble alarm clocks or calculators? You wouldn't make enough to buy that bottle of French wine.

Unless you have an advance degree, basically low paying service jobs is all that's going to be left for the Average American worker. Free trade is a boon for multinational corporations, their executives, and the few wealthy americans that are able to own stock in them. However, it doesn't do much for the Average American forced to take lower paying jobs, and also shouldering an increasing amount of the Tax burden; given the highly favorable tax system toward Corporations and the Upper class by the Bush Administration.

In texas, usa, foster parents have required training they must take. They must be approved. If they have adopted before they have gone thru stringent physcological.testing, background check, including FBI, Police, criminal and if they have had children before they will be questioned about the foster parents ability to raise children. ?s include how were they disciplined and much more. People must have good credible references and they will be questioned about prospective parents morality, financials, personality, and so on. Its a long drawn out process, but worth it.

How to volunteer in Indonesia

How to volunteer in Indonesia?
My mother and I are looking to volunteer in Indonesia/South East Asia/Africa this summer (end of July/beginning of August) for 2-3 weeks and have looked at many programs where you pay to volunteer. Has anyone ever done any of these programs-- any good ones? Is there a way to volunteer without paying for a program? We would specifically like to work with children, but are open to any and all opportunities. Any contacts out there?

"Is there a way to volunteer without paying for a program?" No organization is going to fly you over to Indonesia to volunteer for 2 - 3 weeks. Wouldn't it be so much more beneficial to local people to simply hire and train local people themselves to work with children? Here's how to find a list of NGOs in Indonesia: http://www.adb.org/NGOs/cso-sources-indonesia.asp What you could do is fly over to Indonesia and then ask to make site visits at various NGOs, finding out about their work, what they do, the challenges they face, etc., and then blog about your experience and encourage people to donate to help these NGOs (donating directly to the NGOs, or an international NGO that serves as an umbrella for these groups, NOT donating to you).
