how do i apply for a social visit visa to travel in indonesia?
I am scheduled to go to Indonesia these Christmas holidays. I already have my round trip ticket and sponsorship letter, also a copy of my husband's working permit. What do I need more to apply for a social visit visa?

If you are a US citizen you do not need to do anything in advance. When you get to the international airport in Indonesia after you get off of the plane you will go thru customs. There you will pay for your visa. It costs $25 USD for a 30 day visa. If you plan to stay longer than that then you should apply to the Indonesian Consulate for a visa in advance and provide the letter, etc. Make sure your passport is valid for at least a year from the date you travel. The government advises 6 months, but better safe than sorry. It's better not to raise suspicion of your intent while you are there!

Does anybody know what is in the Indonesian liquor "cukrik"
Does anybody know what is in the Indonesian liquor "cukrik"?
I am working over in Indonesia and there is a very cheap home made liquor called cukrik. Does anybody know if this is worse for you than normal alcohol and what the ingredients are?

Home made? It sounds like that could be like village liquor. That stuff is like petrol engine.

Where do I find information on how people in indonesia communicate to one another?
I am working on a paper for my interpersonal communications class that is dealing with intercultural communications. I chose Indonesia. I was wondering what websites or where I could look for information on communication in Indonesia. I already have an article called "Communications in Indonesia" from wikipedia but need more information. Anything will help. Thanks.

It's quite hard if you don't speak Indonesian because some of the best websites and books about Communication are written in Indonesian. And what kind of Communications do you mean? Linguistic, or social communication? I think the best way is for you to interview an Indonesian Communications expert, like through e mail or telephone. I would be glad to provide some contacts if you would like!

You should contact the University and talk to a Guidance Counselor, who can talk you through the process, step by step.
