Why not.Providing you pass and meet the necessary qualifications of Indonesia.
2 :
Yes, doctor is a doctor. You learn the profession not the language. If you graduated from a recognised institution in the Phillipenes then it should not be a problem. All the best!/

Garmins are readily available on the international market. They have been around for years along with Magellan. Now, many or all of the common brands of GPS receivers do not have maps available for every country or major city of the world. Even if they had maps available, they may not have the type for the tourist or a person trying to navigate a city such as Jakarta or the countryside on Bali. However, there are plenty of topographical maps available and you either have to submit a request for one or possibly find one that is in downloadable format on the internet. If your country has an embassy in Indonesia, my recommendation is to contact them and ask for suggestions, links, contact info and so forth. To use the topographical maps, you may be required you to set your GPS device to “MGRS” or even “lat long”. Now, with all that being said, it is highly possible that maps of Indonesia are available for GPS use but remember there are many islands that make up the country. There have many features available for the receivers but it could be limited depending on location. Also, many of the GPS devices build maps or chart your progress as you negotiate terrain such as going on a trek in the forest. If you wanted to trek or navigate a city, but the device did not have a map to support the area, then go with the MGRS and save “way points” as you navigate through the countryside or city. This may not help you when looking for a certain street you are looking for but it can bring you back to your starting point. If I was in your shoes, I would contact one of the two GPS brands I mentioned, Garmin or Magellan and ask specific questions.

Depends with your carrier

The Indo cards are different. You will either have to buy one or let yourself be without communication for a couple of days. Its not a bad Idea to have Sim cards from all the Asian countries. some of the new wallets actually have multiple Sim card pockets built in. good luck.

if you bring smart and globe, i think they will work.**

That actually depends on the service provider of the sim that you bought. If you buy Singtel, I think that they do provide roaming to a lot of neighboring Asian countries. However, if you bought, say, a Globe sim (coz they sell those in Singapore, under Singtel), then you could apply for roaming service and you can use your sim almost anywhere. :)

I use a Starhub Green prepaid card. It allows roaming at decent rates (see below). The sim card costs $18 and comes with $18 worth of credit -- you can buy it at any 7-Eleven (take your passport as you'll need to register it). Top-up cards worth $18 can be bought for around $15 in many places. You need to activate roaming before you leave Singapore by dialing *111#.
