I have a friend in Indonesia. He's works outside but I always hear the news about the eartquakes in his motherland. Why does Indonesia often have the earthquake? How do people THERE do?

Indonesia has earthquakes because it's sitting on the boundary between two plates. The earths plates move constantly because the plates rest on magma convection (a form of heat transfer) produces currents in the magma and the plates move on the currents, the plates sometimes collide or push up or against each other when this happens an earthquake can occur.
