Question about visa travelling to Indonesia using HKDI passport

Question about visa travelling to Indonesia using HKDI passport?
I have a friend's husband who is holding a Hong Kong Document of Identity passport (HKDI) residing in Hong Kong and he needs to go to Indonesia for work purpose very soon. NB: Not HK Identification From what I have researched, it's a 30 days free visa but HKDI is actually a bit special and also, from what I have heard, you need a letter from a relative in Indonesia in order to grant a visa, is that true? I hope not, because it would be quite ridiculous as there are peoplpe who might go to Indonesia for holiday or work purpose (like my friend's husband), so therefore the reason does not justify. My friend tried to ring the indonesian embassy these couple of days but the line is always busy and since time is running out, I am representing on her behalf to ask this question. I hope anyone who knows about this or what solution can be done would be greatly appreciated. If there are any questions that you need to know before you are able to answer firmly, feel free to shoot out. Thank you very much in advance and have a great day

with indonesia esp if you're chinese airport immigration can be difficult. calling the embassy is fruitless as they never answer the public line. is there a way to get to the embassy and they work till 11am only. better to get a visa which costs $$. usually u dont need a letter from someone in indonesia. if work, then company should provide such assistance with their counterpart in indon. its the most corrupted country in the world. if u can avoid it
