It is not easy for an unskilled worker, but many people manage to do so. You should contact immigration.govt.nz and see if there are any work areas NZ needs. If not you may still be able to get it if you have a talent in arts/culture/sport. Otherwise you might be able to get a temporary workers permit but you need to contact them and discuss it with them.
