I'd like to buy apple iphone 3g. the only question that my brother in Indonesia said ," If I unlocked and bring it to Indonesia, the iphone won't work" is it true? What is jailbroken? Is jailbroken only for iphone? can my balckberry get jailbroken?] Thanks

jailbreaking means you have 'unlocked' the phone WITHOUT the 'unlock code' so any sim card can go in it. Right now, the almighty evil Apple empire has locked the phone with ATT. Even though it has only ATT service, ATT has no unlock codes for Iphones. Apple wont disclose them to us, even though this was supposed to be a 50-50 relationship. Damn apple! The reason why people 'jailbreak" iphones and 'unlock' blackberries is becuase ATT has unlock codes for BBs, samsungs, lgs, nokia,s motorolla, etc... if our sticker logo is on it.. them we get the code... and the unlock is prefectly legel and ethical!.... But with iphones, there is no att sticker logo... they arent our phones, a common misconception in today's "youth". they belong 100% to the Evil Apple Empire, which wont even disclose the unlock code to their loyal Mac Fans! LOL therefore, to "top the man", you dont/CANT unlock iphones... you must JAIL - BREAK IT! But, in the long run, jailbreaking is the unethical portion of an ethical unlocking. LOL And for Indonesia... be very careful taking an Iphone out of the US, Japan, Western Europe... high data rates apply.... If its jailbroken, then put a Indonesian SIM card in it and you'll be fine---that is ONLY if Indonesia has 2G/3G/3.5G towers Good luck!
